There are plenty of Catering and Trading opportunities in the Demonstration field. Anyone wishing to apply should read the following Terms and Conditions and then submit their business information via this Google form
Terms & Conditions
Fees are fixed by NRBDC and are payable in advance by bank transfer.
Allocation of pitches and facilities is at the direction of the NRBDC and no catering unit shall move from their allocated area.
A plan of the Assembly area at Newry High School will be issued by NRBDC at least 1 week in advance of the event. Caterers will be requested to operate from 10am - 2pm in the Assembly area.
A plan for the Demonstration field will be issued by NRBDC at least 1 week in advance of the event. The caterer will be requested to operate from 1.00pm - 5.00pm in the Demonstration Field or 10am. All units should be set up by 11.00am and removed by 6.00pm. Units must not leave their allocated area until it is safe to do so ie, when the vast majority of attendees and spectators have left and only with the permission of the safety marshals.
Details of your catering stall documentation should be uploaded as part of this process - including proof of council registration, food hygiene rating, sample menu and price list, photo of unit, gas safe and PAT Testing certification. If you are successful, further evidence may be requested.
The size of the catering unit is required and should be listed as part of the submission. This should include any additional space required for towing vehicles and refrigeration units.
Catering units must be self-contained and the use of a diesel powered, silent generator for the operation of the catering unit will be permitted.
NRBDC reserves the right, acting reasonably but at its absolute discretion, to close any catering unit at the event at any time if they consider that there is a need to do so.
In the event of the Last Saturday event being postponed or abandoned, in the event of supplies, services or facilities being curtailed due to a strike, lock-out or other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the NRBDC, the NRBDC shall not be liable for any expenditure, loss or damage or liability sustained or incurred.
The use of a public-address system from any catering unit will be prohibited.
Operators must not allow any catering unit to break the surface of the ground. Where it is broken reinstatement must be made to the satisfaction of the NRBDC. Failure to do so will result in the reinstatement being carried out by the NRBDC and all reasonable costs must be reimbursed to the NRBDC.
Operators shall fully indemnify the NRBDC against all proceedings, costs, claims, demands and liability howsoever arising, whether directly or indirectly, in connection with their operations at this Black Saturday Demonstration and in particular (but without limitation to the generality of the foregoing) shall indemnify the NRBDC against any liability for injury to or death of any person and loss of or damage to any property, howsoever caused. Furthermore, Operators shall, in conjunction with their liability, hereunder affect the public liability insurance policy for an indemnity limit of not less than £5m in respect of any one occurrence. Operators must also hold employer’s liability insurance cover if applicable and completing this form it is assumed that this cover is in place and held by the Operator. NRBDC accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to the property of the catering concession or their employees or visitors.
Operators must keep suitable and adequate firefighting equipment, in relation to the catering unit, available for use at all times.
NRBDC and/or Newry Mourne and Down Council reserve the right to inspect all units and equipment with or without the responsible Council Official, for the purpose of ensuring that adequate fire precautions have been taken.
Operators shall not be permitted to sub-let or share the whole or any portion of the pitch area allocated and any article or exhibition contrary to this rule will be removed. Any exhibitor infringing this rule will be expelled from the site.
NRBDC reserves the right to inspect all stands and equipment without prior notice.
Operators will meet all costs incurred for the installation of the catering unit and any supplies or facilities/services needed.
Operators are responsible to ensure that their pitch area is kept clean and free from litter by providing sufficient bin receptacles for their waste. All waste must be removed from site at the end of the event and disposed of by the caterer.
Operators must ensure that all vehicles and equipment have been inspected and tested at suitably frequent intervals (or if applicable, as required by law) and is, at all times, in a safe condition and safe for use and have up to date certificates in place as required by law.
All units must comply in every respect with food safety and health and safety legislation and may be inspected by Newry Mourne and Down Council at the event. NRBDC require a minimum of a 4* rating.
Operators must not allow or cause, directly or indirectly, any danger to the public in connection to the catering unit during the occupation of the site including site set up and site clearing.
NRBDC are not bound to accept the all the applications it receives but will seek to keep operators if they have been successful as early as possible.

Payments
If successful with this submission, applicants undertake to pay 100% one month prior to the date of the event. Failure to pay by the stated time may result in the NRBDC cancelling the agreement and offering the pitch to another operator with the NRBDC not being liable for any expenditure, loss, damage or liability sustained or incurred.

A ZERO ALCOHOL policy will be enforced in this Demonstration field.
